This fabulous example probably dates from the 30s when London Transport took over from the Metropolitan Railway and Kingsbury Station was opened. Originally on the Bakerloo line Kingsbury is now on the Jubilee line. The frame is bronze and the three enamel panels fit into the grooves on the reverse. It great condition considering age, and will clean up beautifully. We have kept it in a garage and it is now time to find a good home for it. It does not appear to have any makers details on it but I was given it when the new enamel signs were installed about 1972. On my way to school I asked the station master if I could have one and he said yes as they only going to be scrapped. My dad and I came down and collected it and it was on my bedroom wall for a few years. It will make a real statement as it measures 5 x 4 and is not as well known a station as some, but is still a very rare example of a quality and evocative sign.
