Colman’s Wash Blue original vintage enamel sign 38″ x 36″. Original “Colman’s Wash Blue for Snow White Linen” enamelled steel advertising. Until recently was attached to the exterior of a 19th Century stable block but removed during structural repairs. 11 of the 12 mounting holes are intact but the missing 12th mounting hole on the lower edge is due to a strip of metal approximately 6″ x 1″ having corroded away beneath the’e’ of the word linen. Edges are generally corroded with chipped enamelling as per the age and outside location. Some random missing and corroded patches varying between 1/2″ and 1&1/2″. There has, at some point in it’s life, been an additional hole drilled above the’M’ of Colman’s and this has surrounding corrosion. Rear is plain and has age related corrosion. Chalk mark 2/2 is temporary for tracking photos as there is a twin sign (see other listings) and it will wash off. Collection only from near Dartford, Kent by arrangement.
