From around 1930 this domed enamel sign was used outside to advertsing the “Chocolat Pupier” brand. A wonderful piece of history and decortaive item or for a collection. The Chocolat Pupier brand was created in Saint-E? Tienne, France, in the 1860s. The company included trade cards in with their products. When collectors completed a full set of cards, they could redeem them for a gift. In 1938 the company issued a series of chocolate trade cards with the theme of countries of the world. Business declined after the second world war, and the company bought out in the late 1970’s. Measures 43cm x 27cm. Please note this piece does have considerable age and as such there are signs of obvious wear and loss to the enamel. The piece remains strong and sturdy with some nibbles to the edges.
