This is a large, original Colman’s Starch enamel advertising sign, retaining excellent presence and strong visual impact. The sign displays deep, bold blue lettering against a clean white ground, with much of the enamel surface remaining glossy. There are areas of enamel loss, edge wear, and age-related marks, primarily around the original mounting holes and edges, consistent with a genuine period shop or storeroom sign. Light surface rust is visible where the enamel has worn, confirming originality and long-term use. Importantly, there is no evidence of restoration, repainting, or modern interference, which is highly desirable to collectors. The overall patina is attractive and honest, enhancing the sign’s authenticity rather than detracting from it. A scarce, large-format enamel sign with strong typography and excellent wall presence, increasingly difficult to source in original condition.
