It adds to the look in my opinion. The lenses are not cracked. I can see MM markings on the edge of the arm. It is approx 156cm long by 35cm high. It is pretty heavy, approx 20kg. An excellent and rare original BR enamel “NAIRN” signal box sign in Scottish Region light blue. The enamel remains in excellent condition for its age, with a great shine. There are some losses (mainly to the bottom right corner and centre of the underside – please view all photos) and minor surface marks as to be expected. Fortunately, the sign has not undergone any restoration or touching up, and so it remains exactly as it was when removed from one of the two former signal boxes at either end of Nairn station platform – situated on the Aberdeen to Inverness line.
