Probably one of the rarest signs I have ever come across. It measure 227mm x 40mm and manufactured from solid copper and glass. A class item (and class items are never cheap). Beautiful sign made from solid copper with enamel lettering. The letters are cut into the solid copper and then the gaps filled with glass frits (powdered glass) then fired in a kiln. Well certainly in sign manufacture. Due to the fact that you can get a plastic sign printed out for pennies – and they look so. Of course, nowadays cheap plastic signs are everywhere – even on (and in) old historic buildings and heritage sites. Personally, being an ardent collector of vintage signage I hate to see cheap plastic signs in such places and cannot suppress a shudder when I do. I suppose this is why quality made old vintage signs are so rare these days – they’ve become collectors items and consequently command high prices.

Vintage doubled sided porcelain enamel clean rest rooms flange sign with original hanging bracket. The sign has great vibrant colors and is very clean. 54 1/4 tall on bracket. 18 5/8 deep on bracket. Each octagon shaped piece is approx 18 x 18 (largest dimensions). Some spots of white enamel over spray on the blue. Some enamel loss around the edges of the sign. No major damage or heavy scratches. A few minor, light scratches. Doesnt appear to be any rust on the signs or bracket. Be sure to view all of the photographs.
