It has a lovely patina and is in good original condition. I think it dates from the late 1800s. 32cm wide by 24cm high. Very classy decorative item.

AA HOTEL DOUBLE-SIDED ENAMEL SIGN. A large vintage double sided enamelled metal AA Hotel sign. Sign has hooks at the top for ease of display. The sign is double sided so it appears that it could be removed from the frame to give you two signs. Item inclusive of hooks is approx 87cm x 59cm x 8cm – 80 x 57 x 4cm. Item is in vintage used condition with obvious signs of age, use, marks, chipped enamel, rust, scratches, dings and wear as you would expect from a vintage item. [Can is for scale and not included]. Wonderful all-original late 1950s four-colour screen-printed aluminium sign, bolted into its original painted steel frame. DULUX’s own famous e. Namel paint screened onto big non-wobbly aluminium sheet. Not vitreous enamel on steel. Actual screened sheet measures 20 x 33 inches. In the frame 20.25 x 33.5 inches. The’legs’ are 3.5 inches and could be easily cut off, but I’ve left them. There are a few inevitable scratches to the surface here and there but nothing serious (and being on aluminium, no rust bleed to spoil the colours). A rare survivor, find another. Check the photos and be sure to use the enlargement facility. As Pop Art as it gets (very Roy Lichtenstein, without the Ben-Day dots), and rather more appropriate than soup. This will come ParcelForce 24 in the UK. Personal collection from Nottingham preferred, so just ask and I’ll revise the listing to accommodate.
