An original double-sided enamelled metal sign, with beautiful Red/Black outlined bold lettering on cream background. Some enamel loss and damage (see photos), with hanging flange rusted and damaged – only 2 wall fastening holes – wear/knocks/rust marks commensurate with age. Originally hung on Railway Station Platform wall. Overall good condition for its age – Double Sided. Dimensions : Height 12″, Width 18″, Flange Depth 2/5cm (only 2 holes available for hanging).

This is a wonderful Lyon’s Coffee & Chicory Extract enamel sign from the 1930s. It is double sided and looks amazing coming out of the wall! This sign is in good vintage condition, but please do see all photos for condition. It is showing signs of age and use, but we love this and think it shows the perfect amount of age, without obscuring the sign too much! It seems to have a letter box sort of slit cut in it! From the placement we don’t think this is original, and also can’t imagine why- it’s not something we have done! It measures 46cm by 30cm, and the L shaped bit (for attaching to the wall) is 4.5cm wide. It’s a wonderful size as it is able to be a statement piece depending on where it is put, but can also be quite subtle, as not too large!

An Original early 20th Century enamel advertising sign, for Lyons Coffee and Chicory extract, would look fantastic displayed in a coffee shop/ cafe/ restaurant, or equally in a domestic setting. This is a large example, and measures 5ft x 18 inches, remaining a practical displayable size. Striking design, and good bold red text colour. With original makers credit to bottom right corner, as pictured. Condition is pretty good.
