This rare enamel sign is an amazing find, a rare and original design of a district nurse sign. There was a district nurse in most town and rural areas in England. They’ve been working since the Victorian times. Long before the NHS. The sign is a genuine original, made in England, and has not been modified. From the lettering i’d reckon this is from the turn of the century, Edwardian to 1930’s. It is now very nearly rusted away. It will need some tlc to stabalise it before displaying. It really is a unique addition to any collection of medical or social memorabilia, perfect for collectors. Please see the photos and feel free to ask any questions. It measures 12 x 8 inches, and I think the corners were clipped. The sign is a great way to add a touch of nostalgia to any space, with its classic design and history. Here for sale is a lovely extremely rare heavy old enamel sign dating back from the early 1900s , this measures 26 inches x 9 & a half inches. This reads STEPHENS BLUE BLACK WRITING FLUID. This comes with minor enamel loss and minor marks, etc… With a very small slight bend to the top right hand corner, please use the pictures as part of the description! There are lots of variations of the Stephens inks enamel signs , this is one of the much earlier ones before they introduced the splash of blue and black lettering and ink. You only have to feel the weight and look at the detailed writing on the ink bottle on the sign to realise this is a true genuine Antique that will only continue to climb in value.
