Lovely example of a rare metal sign for Melrose’s Tea. In great condition for year, probably from around 1940’s. One corner the hole has eroded but the remainder are intact. There are also a couple of small dints which I’ve tried to show in the pictures. A few minor marks – especially on lettering. A few scratch marks on the red background. Nothing too major and still looks great as an amazing piece of history. Some rust marks, not too many but there is some kind of mark on the reverse of the sign which I can’t figure out what it is! The pictures show all the marks etc. No creases or folds, just a couple of small dints. Size of Sign is 74cm wide by 50cm high. Sign will be well packaged to protect it in transit. For condition please view High Definition photos. A good sized sign and a rare one. Condition is generally very good for age though there is a line from the top to the bottom (it goes through the edge of the “O” and can be seen on the back too) where this has previously been bent and subsequently well flattened again. Sign is currently nice and flat- going up very slightly on the top right corner where there is a very mild- nearly negligible crease at the bottom of the “S”- see photos to examine all of this. My shop offers a large and growing selection of vintage tins and advertising collectables. Unless stated in listing all my tins are empty of original contents and everything included is photographed.
